The rates below are guidelines. Each project is evaluated individually, based on the complexity of the job. The more "finished" a project is, the less it will cost you. GHOSTWRITING
There are many different types of books, from business and social histories and "how-to" manuals to personal memoirs. You can expect to pay between $5,000 to $35,000 and up for a book to be ghostwritten depending on the length of the book, the complexity of the subject matter, additional research, and your deadline. If you feel your book is "almost there" but it needs refining, it will be less expensive. Please call or email us. We will give you an estimate after we understand what you need.
REWRITING
If you have already written the draft of a book, report, or document and you would like us to rewrite it for you, we would need to review the material, and give you an estimate.
Manuscript $2,000 to $7,500
per 100 pages depending on complexity ($20-$75 and up per page)
Hourly rate: $30/hr and up depending on complexity. It costs less
for 100 pages and up.
TRANSCRIBING FROM TAPE RECORDER OR DIGITAL VIDEOTAPE
Transcription costs $2,000 and up per 100 pages, depending on complexity ($20 and up per page)
Transcribing an interview or commentary from tape recording (without editing), 1-5 pages of single-spaced transcription costs $150and up. More complex material is priced by the project. Most often some editing and/or rewriting is required.

EDITING
One hour is equivalent to editing approximately 3-10 pages, depending on the changes that need to be made and complexity. After we review the material you send us, we will send you a proposal.
There is a 5 page minimum. If your project is less than 5 pages it will be billed at the 5 page rate. Projects of 100 pages and up cost less and are priced by the project.

We offer customized editorial and design services for brochures and promotional material from $150 and up.
WEB PAGE OR PAGES
Editorial content - text only - with your data. 75-100 lines of text, title page, single-spaced costs $200 and up. The cost of additional pages is based on complexity and length.
Editorial content that requires research, phone or in person interviews, or photographs, images and customized graphics cost more.
WEB SITE DESIGN
$250-900 and up for the home/title page including editorial content (text), depending on complexity, incorporating, original or stock photographs, customized fonts, graphics, etc. A web site that costs $900 would incorporate lavish high resolution illustrations and photographs, and many customized features.

Procedure and Payment Schedule
Estimating Editorial Projects:
If possible, please specify the number of standard pages (e.g.
8 ½ x 11, Times New Roman font, 12 pt (font size), double
or single spaced with 1 inch margins, the services you require,
and your deadline. We will email or call you with an estimate.

Ghostwriting:
Ghostwriting is evaluated depending on complexity, and whether
further research is necessary. After considering your project,
we will send you a proposal and fee schedule.
If or when we agree to work together, we will sign an agreement that stipulates a schedule and format of manuscript, document or letter submission (i.e. email attachment, doc. file, manuscript sent by private mail carrier, messenger, USPS etc) and payment schedule.
Our contract will contain a clause defining a trial period for larger projects that allows you to opt out if you are not satisfied with our work. Please note however that ghostwriting requires a non-refundable retainer of $600 before a writing sample is sent (see below)
For ghost writing a book or rewriting a manuscript a first submission will be sent to you (approximately 10 pages) that should give you an idea of the quality of writing you should expect from us. If you approve, we will continue according to our agreed upon schedule. If you decide not to continue with a project, you are entitled to opt out, incurring a charge of $600 (the retainer).
REQUIREMENTS
We exchange files and documents online via computer. Please save or make copies of material you send us for your files.
If you do not wish to exchange documents and files online you may submit them by bonded and insured private mail carrier(FedEx etc), USPS or messenger. We delete files from our system once a project is completed to protect the confidentiality of our clients. We do not store files.
Tapes and digital videotapes may only be sent and returned by messenger, insured private mail carriers or USPS.
There are additional postage and handling fees for returning projects to our clients by private mail carrier and messenger service.
